Anagallis arvensis 18kb

Description - The small pale red flowers of Scarlet Pimpernel may be familiar to you as a garden weed, but have you seen other colour varieties? White flowers with lilac centres are quite common on the cliffs in Spring, and a bright blue variety is reported about once a decade!

Habitat - Gardens, edge of paths, bareish banks, or other areas of very short turf, are the usual habitats of this plant.

Comments - Another name for this plant is "Poor Man's Weather Glass", as the flowers are senistive to atmospheric humidity and will close if rain is likely.
