Description - There is nothing delicate about the fronds of this fern. They are covered in a thick cuticle to protect it from sea-spray. Plants are mostly fairly small, each frond c. 2-6 cm, but in some sheltered niches, such as sea-caves, it can reach up to 30cm in length.

Habitat - Usually found close to the sea, on the cliffs, or walls within reach of sea-spray, although it has been known for many years on the east coast of the Castel Church, which is well inland.

Comment - Found around most of the coast, and often unnoticed.
