| Asplenium ruta-muraria | Aspleniaceae | Wall-rue |
Description - A small dark green fern with its leaves shaped like those of Rue.
Habitat - On mortared walls.
Comments - A rare fern, scattered throughout the island on walls. This is one of the lime-loving (calcicole) ferns found on walls. The others are: Maidenhair Fern, Maidenhair Spleenwort and Rusty Back. Most of Guernsey is formed of acid, igneous or metamorphic rocks so these ferns are only found in man-made habitats.
