Description - Tiny red stems with minute crowded leaves, each stem no more than 2cm long. In summer small flowers appear in the leaf axils, they are white with three petals and sepals.

Habitat - grows on nearly bare ground, e.g. paths and trampled areas, mainly sandy and on the coast. Common in suitable areas of the cliffs and L'Ancresse.

Comments - Common in all the Channel Islands, and increasing in mainland Britain, again mainly coastal, but also occurs on forestry rides in Scotland.
