| Geranium yeoi | Geraniaceae | Greater Herb Robert |
Description - Very similar to Herb Robert, Geranium robertianum, but with more chromosomes. It is larger in all parts, and redder overall. The well-cut leaves and shiny stems are often bright red, and the flowers purple.
Habitat - This is a garden escape, and is found occasionally either near established gardens, or in places where garden rubbish has been dumped.
Comment - Native in Madeira, this plant was first recorded in Town in 1968 by Peter Girard. It has not spread as fast or as widely as it's' more recently arrived relative, Giant Herb-Robert, Geranium maderense.
