| Ornithopus perpusillus | Fabaceae | Bird's-foot |
| Flowers and Seed Pods | Close-up |
Description - A tiny pea flower, you will need a lens to appreciate it. It is cream with delicate red stripes on the standard (the upper petal). The seed pods are jointed like those of the rarer Orange Bird's-foot.
Habitat - Quite common around the coast in short turf, occasionally found inland as well.
Comments - It is always a delight to find this beautiful little flower, and t show it off with a lens to one's non-botanical friends.
