| Polygonum oxyspermum | Polygonaceae | Ray's Knotgrass |
| Picture 1 | Close Up |
Description - A prostrate plant, like Common Knotgrass, but slightly more robust in all parts. Leaves are larger and almost fleshy, the pink flowers produce shiny brown seeds, which protrude from the sepals, unlike the hidden seeds of its common relative.
Habitat - Restricted to sandy, pebbly areas near the sea.
Comments - For the last 50 years or so known only from one tiny area at Vazon. It could be worth searching similar sites around the coast.
